Gave the original a go without realising there was a Gold edition. Had the original running with Wine no problems, this for some reason had issues with the sound library. Wouldn't work with mono either, so hopped into Windows just to give it a try (Something I don't do on a whim).
Love all the different locals and the enemies. Levels are kind of like puzzle. You have a set load out and you get to learn how best to beat each enemies. Best weapons, positions etc.
There's a lot of charm with this, lot's of little touches that show attention to detail and it's simply good stuff. Really does capture the feel very well of the C64.
Thanks for your feedback! Did I understand you correctly that its was running in Windows without sound-problems? I exchanged OpenAL (in the original version) with windows media player, because I suddenly had problems with OpenAL.

Indeed, runs with absolutely no problems in Windows 10.
